We did a shoot on wednesday (which was the wild wednesday weather wise.) It was rain and 100mph winds which ended up closing motorways and blowing over trees. Luckily we were shooting both inside as well as outside. 

The location was stunning, a great team to work with.

I am currently in the process of organising a shoot with props and as usual my mind is getting carried away. It annoys me how I envision shoots and the difficulty and reality of getting it to look alike. 

I have found some bits and pieces along with masses of material, netting and wigs! This can all contribute to the shoot in mind. Hoping the weather sees a little more sun.

I also really want to do a shoot with Adam, again my mind projects ideas that are hard to set in motion so I have a feeling this shoot will be slightly delayed but hopefully not by much. 

Upcoming tests

After being present at Maverick Models in Manchester I had a great insight to the modelling side of photography. 

Looking forward to testing with some of the girls from the day plus others.

Quite a few shoots on the horizon over the next couple of months.

I have just been to Robin hoods bay and off to Croatia early hours of tomorrow so I am soaking up ideas/ inspiration themes etc.

The lovely Becky from Oxygen Models was great to work with. Considering the clouds were black and threatening rain the lighting for this shoot was pretty nice with John reflecting any lift he could, worked well.

90s Shoot Behind Scenes

My last shoot was with Becky from Oxygen Models, Kelly O did hair and makeup, Zoe Hughes Stylist brought a great selection of 90s themed outfits-brought back great memories! 
Before we started the day the weather forecast was looking very ominous. As we looked up a black stormy looking cloud was hovering over us, it gave out 90% chance of rain but like a miracle it did not rain!
Action Records in Preston was kind enough to let us use the shop to prep and to photograph inside. It is a great little record store and will be re-visiting.www.actionrecords.co.uk
For the rest of the 90s look we went for the street and urban look combine with 90s theme clothes both grunge and pop.
It was good fun and thanks to Nic Cole scouting this location for us!
John C Taylor assisted me with the shoot to and we made best us of the natural light available.

           

Summer Garden Shoot

It was a lovely day to do a garden shoot, The perfect weather and perfect weekend to shoot on as all the flowers were out to work with. the girls looked identical with the sunglasses on which worked well. I got sun flare at the end which I wanted to add to get the feel of it being summery. The team worked well together to help create a beautifully feminine, fresh and summer looking shoot.

Summer Ideas

At the moment I'm researching for a campaign shoot and product shoot. 
Also in the next couple months I am working on a look book and my own shoot with lots of florals and bright colours while the flowers are out. Looking for creatives who would like to get involved around the north west- send me an email.

Location scouting

Having gone freelance now for a little while I have more time to collaborate. I have been up Pendal Hill this weekend.. a bit of a mission.. looking for perfect areas and locations.
I don't think I could get everyone and everything up there without somebody passing out probably me!

I am looking to shoot on a beach as the weather is slowly  coming back, love the sunshine it is very inspiring.

Meanwhile I have been working on two business ideas with meetings to follow this week with miss Nic Cole and others. :)

We went down to So Coco Rouge on Sunday to photograph Alice Barlow- Kelly O did the hair and makeup, we went for two looks and had 3/4 outfits to choose from, Laura Simms helped assist and styling assisting. We went for the vintage, starlet look.

Juggling project ideas

Lately I have had to many ideas going through my head, finding it hard to concentrate on one and feel like I'm getting nowhere fast.

I have had meetings on one idea. For the other I will be using more creatives on a test basis, juggling funds.

I have been location scouting for both projects, looking forward to spring and summer. Hoping for nicer weather.

Looking forward to meetings I have arranged and pieces I have had delivered. Hopefully I will soon be able to bring more details to light on my projects. Meanwhile lots of snow, I wish I had a shoot arranged tomorrow but will be hopefully shooting something soon - with lots of ideas in mind is very frustrating not being able to get them out into images. Bit by bit I will work on things, most likely slowly this year but I am aiming for quality over quantity. 

A couple of projects

I have a couple ongoing things - both are costly so will need time and planning.
One is a photography project and the other is a slightly different direction that I am excited to start work on. This will still involve photography but hopefully will be able to shed more light in 2013.

I can't quite believe how fast this year has gone.. I started off thinking I would plan a couple of shoots per month at least but because of time and being busy only a handful came off but they were still costly.

Highlight was defiantly going to NYC and photographing in Central Park. I have met more lovely people this year who are very creative individuals. Getting to work in Muncaster Castle was also amazing. 
Travelling to London for a Battersea Park shoot was a little out of the blue but again got to work with such great people.

Everyone I have worked with this year have put in 100% and I admire that. Lots of people I would like to work with again in the future.

Behind scenes Eden shoot

Some behind the scenes photos from the shoot on Sunday with Eden model & Kelly O makeup & hair & John C Taylor assisting.

We focused on knitwear and simple locations. We were working on top of the car park in Preston using the simple backdrops of blank walls and concrete textures. Also the open space of Preston city landscape as a backdrop.

As can be seen from the floor it had just been heavily raining with grey skies so we started indoors but it soon brightened up and was lovely within half an hour. It was freezing and the team did really well even in the cold conditions, I love the shots I got from the shoot.

We did a couple different looks to vary the shots and they both worked well, it took half a day which was good time management. 

Look forward to working with everyone again on another collaboration.
